Mineral-based sunscreens (TiO₂) and tinted formulations with iron oxides (FeₓOᵧ) are used year-round — but ensuring homogeneous dispersion remains a critical challenge. Conventional optical methods often fail to detect sub-surface inhomogeneities in turbid systems.

In this hands-on Formulation Lab session, participants will:

🔬 Prepare mineral cosmetic samples with varying mixing times and concentrations
⚡ Analyze spatially & time-resolved X-ray extinction profiles in just 10 seconds per sample using the LUMiReader X-Ray
📊 Differentiate dispersibility vs. long-term stability
🧪 Detect agglomeration, sedimentation tendencies & internal inhomogeneities
🌱 Achieve high analytical output with low environmental impact
