The Demixing Tester LUMiCheck®
is a measuring instrument for the use in research, development and
quality control laboratories. It is used for the fast stability analysis
and particle characterization of dispersions, with respect to the
comparison of samples of similar type. Up to 8 concentrated or diluted
dispersions can, independent of each other, be measured in different
sample cells. The instrument is operated using a touch screen.
Applying LUM’s backscattering technology, the intensity of light,
backscattered from the tilted bottom of the sample cell, is detected
with high sensitivity.
In case of sedimentation particles enter the measuring zone and cause
an increase of the backscattering signal due to the increase of particle
concentration.
When particles cream up / flotate their concentration in the measuring
zone is reduced and the backscattering signal decreases.
The measuring zone is optimized on a small volume in the centre close
to the cell bottom. For that reason, already small changes in concentration
are quickly detected, short measurement time result.
The measured data are automatically analysed during the experiment.
Depending on the selected method the determined and displayed results
allow the quantitative comparison between samples and qualitatively
characterize the demixing behaviour, sediment formation, stability
etc, respectively permit the quality control of samples.
The easy operation of the instrument using a touch screen, data storage
on a SD memory card as well as the optional battery operation permit
the use in many field applications.

result in LUMiCheck® applications for beverages and
food, construction material, lubricants, fuels as well as for further
emulsions and suspensions. |
